Bleacher Report – Vikings

Done deal: Vikings sign all three first-round draft selections

The Minnesota Vikings’ trio of first round picks are all signed and ready to report on time to training camp.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, the 23rd-overall pick, cornerback Xavier Rhodes (No. 25) and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (No. 29) signed their contracts on Thursday morning, ensuring that they will be expected to be in Mankato later in the afternoon.

Floyd, who played college football at Florida, was the first of the Vikings’ three first-round picks. He is the highest drafted defensive tackle by the Vikings since Kevin Williams (ninth overall) in 2009.

Terms of the 22-year-old’s deal were not announced, but for what it’s worth the No. 22 (CB Desmond Trufant) and No. 24 (DE Bjoern Werner) picks each agreed on four-year deals around $8 million deals.

Floyd dabbled with first-team reps during offseason minicamps and OTAs and will add depth with two interior defensive lineman in the final year of their deals (Williams, Fred Evans).

Rhodes, a former star at Florida State, was taken two picks after Floyd, and Patterson landed with the Vikings after a trade was mounted with the New England Patriots.

The Vikings’ first practice is scheduled for Friday morning. Monday will mark their first practice of camp in full pads
